The Fox Valley SAR chapter has many events during the course of the year. We have organizational meetings on a regular basis where the Chapter’s business is conducted and where members can become officers, committee chairs or try out other leadership positions. The Chapter also participates in summer festivals, often marching in parades and providing fantastic photo opportunities for supporting crowds. As part of our mission, we travel to schools and other institutions to present awards and certificates or provide community assistance. And finally, we organize or attend special patriotic commemorations and activities relating to the Revolutionary War and other important historical events.

Although we are not a reenactment organization, a number of our members often participate in uniform during parades and other similar activities and will take part to reenactment events. In fact, our Color Guard (link to Color Guard page) is often the most visible aspect of our Chapter, proudly showcasing how our ancestors dressed during the Revolution. The Color Guard even practices drills according to the principles and techniques used at the time of the War!
