What We Do

Events

The Fox Valley Chapter of the SAR plans many events during the year.  We have regular group meetings to discuss SAR business and enjoy friendship and good conversation.  During the summer especially, we participate in community parades during festivals, appear at memorial and other public events, and have family gatherings.  And all year, we work with schools and other organizations to recognize future generations of patriotic Americans.

Please see our Calendar page for current events.

Awards and Community Service

An important aspect of SAR functions is to engage with our local communities and provide recognition for outstanding citizen actions, achievements and patriotism.  Whether it is first responders, military veterans or even proud displays of the American flag, the SAR strives to recognize what it means to be a contributing community citizen.

Please see our Activities pages for details on many of our programs

Education

Education and History

One of the main goals of the SAR is to ensure that future generations never forget the legacy of those American patriots who stood firm during our nation's founding.  Many of our members have strong interests in American history and family ancestry, given our focus on hereditary links to Revolutionary War patriots.  We're often seen at major local genealogical meetings and events, and we attend school activities where history and civic achievement are recognized.
