Gideon Warner enlisted before his xx-th birthday. He lived to be almost xx years old and is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.

Biography

The biography of Gideon Warner is being written and should be available by June 2006. The sign in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery states: Gideon Warner, Massachusetts native, enlisted April 20, 1778 and served for a year as a private in Captain Pomeroy's company of Colonel Woods regiment in the New York State area. He is the only veteran of the Revolutionary War buried here in 1843.

Pleasant Hill Cemetery

Gideon Warner is buried near the center of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery only 10 feet from the flagpole. The Pleasant Cemetery is a small cemetery located on the south side of Geneva Road west of Wheaton. It is normally locked and not open to the public. To visit the cemetery call 630-668-1616 for an appointment.

The Aurora Chapter of the DAR marked this grave and conducted a memorial service on June 22, 1914, when Frederick was moved to the Spring Lake cemetery.
